Adventure activities in the Yorkshire Dales

Adventure Caving at Ingleborough Cave

Taking one of our Adventure Caving Tours is a unique and exciting way of exploring our unique cave environment beyond the realm of the modern show cave tour. Let one of our experienced Cave Leaders guide you through the passages of Cellar Gallery, over the pool via boat and through the mysterious waters of the Styx to the 2nd Gothic Arch to the impressive Giant’s Hall. See stalagmites, flowstones, scallops, fossils and much more!

What we will provide:

Helmet & Light

What you need to bring:

You will need to wear a warm set of clothing – all of which must be long sleeved. Tracksuit style trousers are the best. NO JEANS/DENIM as it becomes very heavy/cold when wet. A warm jumper is required on top with fleece material being the most desirable. You will need to bring an old pair of gloves, gardening style gloves are best. We can lend you gloves at £1.00.

You will get wet & muddy so make sure you don’t bring new or expensive items of clothing. We can provide a boiler suit to protect your clothes for a hire fee of £5.00 per suit.

You will get wet so a full change of clothes and a towel are required for afterwards.

Wellington boots or sturdy walking boots are essential for the trip. Trainers are unsuitable. Wellies can be hired from us for £1.50 per pair.

The caving tour requires walking/stooping and a small amount of crawling.  You must feel able to complete approximately 1.5 hours of moderate physical exertion and be willing to complete a confidential medical/emergency contact form disclosing any illnesses/conditions/medications for your leader’s awareness.

Minimum ages:

These ages are an approximate guide only. If you have any concerns about your child’s ability please contact us direct to discuss.

We don’t have a strict minimum age as the nature of the cave passages make the trip very suitable for young people. If you have a young person under 6 please get in touch to discuss the suitability of the cave for your child.

We don’t have a maximum age…our eldest participant so far has been a very fit ‘action’ Grandad of 75! So come and join in too Grandparents!

ADULT:  £22.50 CHILD: £17.50 FAMILY (2 Adults & 2 Children): £75

My son is very reluctant to try new things but has always shown an interest in Geology. Jude invited my son and I on a caving trip with her and as he knew Jude and her dog Blaven he agreed to come. During our time in the cave Jude took time to explain to my son the different rock formations and pointing out fossils which she knows is of great interest to him. The caving trip was a real success and my son is looking forward to going again.
